School of International Studies
The School of International Studies prepares responsible, global leaders.
One of only six undergraduate schools of international studies in the
United States, it is the only such school on the West Coast. Unique
among its peers, the School requires all of its students to study abroad
in one of 200 overseas programs in 80 countries. It is the only school
with a team-taught interdisciplinary curriculum, integrating history, political
science, economics, anthropology, and geography into all core courses.
Through this integrated program of study and research and through
in-depth cross-cultural training, students are prepared for successful
personal and professional lives in the global world of the 21st
Century. Established in 1988, the School will continue its growth,
with its goal to be nationally recognized as the best and most
innovative undergraduate school of international studies in the
United States by 2007.
