Nagle, co-owner of the Sacramento Kings, addressed tomorrow’s lawyers. paci f i c l aw 5 S t e v e Y e at e r McGeorge Forum 50 Years after the 1966 Miranda Ruling On April 21, 2016, three leading authorities on police interrogation spoke at McGeorge to mark the 50th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s landmark decision in Miranda v. Arizona. The speakers included McGeorge Dean Emeritus Gerald Caplan, Ohio State criminal law and procedure scholar (and former McGeorge faculty member) Joshua Dressler, and Professor Michael Vitiello. Community Leader and Visionary Investor Inspires Graduates McGeorge Receives Diversity Award The Law School Admission Council (LSAC) honored McGeorge as the first-place Diversity Matters Award winner at the Annual Meeting and Educational Conference on May 31, 2016. Tracy Simmons, assistant dean of admissions, diversity initiatives & financial aid, accepted the award on behalf of McGeorge. This first-place award marks the fourth year in a row that McGeorge has been recognized as a top three finalist for the Diversity Matters Award. The award is given to law schools that have demonstrated the highest level of outreach to racially and ethnically diverse students from the target audience of LSAC’s DiscoverLaw.org campaign. Kevin M. Nagle gave the commencement address at the 2016 McGeorge graduation ceremony on May 21, held at Sacramento’s Memorial Auditorium. Nagle is an owner and executive voting member of the Sacramento Kings basketball team, and was instrumental in leading the efforts, along with Mayor Kevin Johnson, to retain the team in Sacramento. He is also majority owner of the Sacramento Republic FC, a successful minor league soccer club, and is leading the ownership group seeking to bring Major League Soccer to Sacramento. Nagle was named the Sacramento Business Journal 2015 Executive of the Year.
