| Why were the Japanese staring at us? |
While the Japanese are often curious
and may stare at foreigners, especially Americans, this was not the reason so
many people seemed annoyed with us. The Japanese do not eat or smoke on a
commuter train because it is considered extremely rude. They also do not eat
while walking on a street or riding busses. We were being really rude by
chewing down on the train.
