Have you ever heard anyone say, "Itís not what you said but how you said it that bothers me?" You usually know if someone is angry, happy, or sad by their tone of voice even if they are attempting to mask their emotions by making statements to cover up how they really feel.

It is not just how a person speaks that tells us how they feel and react. All verbal messages are accompanied by many different kinds of nonverbal signals. Body movements carry as much—and often more—meaning and information than the words being spoken.
